Green Mountain Youth Symphony Spring Concert

Experience a thrilling blend of classical grandeur, cinematic beauty, and modern hits in this unforgettable Spring concert.
Tickets are available by donation at the door. Suggested donation: Adults $15, Seniors $12, Students (K-12) $5, Children under 5 are free.

The Repertory, Concert, and Senior Orchestras will each perform their own musical offerings. The Repertory Orchestra under the baton of Paul Perley, Concert and Senior Orchestras under GMYS Artistic Director, Bob Blais.
The Repertory Orchestra program includes an original piece titled Approaching The Cliff by Paul Perley. Concert Orchestra is preparing a vibrant musical journey with energetic Latin rhythms, sweeping Celtic melodies, and the timeless elegance of Bach.
Mr. Blais and the Senior Orchestra have prepared a program of beloved film soundtracks and three more classical pieces. Alongside Toccata and Fugue, Emperor Waltz, and Procession of the Nobles, the audience will also recognize familiar tunes from The Sound of Music, Star Wars, and How to Train Your Dragon (among others).

A raffle with prizes from generous local businesses will take place throughout the afternoon, with exciting drawings in the second half of the program! Audience members can enter for a chance to win many fantastic prizes, including a family pass to Shelburne Museum, a month-long membership to Green Mountain Community Fitness in Montpelier, and a gift card to Hunger Mountain Co-op!
